Intelligent Systems Engineer

Field: Research & Innovation – Location: Oss, The Netherlands – Contract type: Full-time

At REV'IT!, we have a deep-rooted drive. We want motorcyclists to enjoy their passion to the fullest. To achieve that goal, we try to learn something new every day. From each other, from our customers, from our data, and maybe also from you.

Within our Research & Innovation department, we are continuously exploring how intelligent technology can contribute to safer riding experiences. From embedded software and machine learning models to sensor-driven decision making and real-time safety systems. As our new Intelligent Systems Engineer, you will help bridge the gap between multiple technical disciplines while contributing to advanced rider-safety technology.

What can you expect from us?

Design, Performance, and Innovation shape the way we think, experiment, and engineer at REV’IT!. Especially within Research & Innovation, where technical curiosity and practical application continuously come together.

As Intelligent Systems Engineer, you will work on complex challenges that sit at the intersection of embedded software engineering, machine learning, control systems, and intelligent data processing. This is not a narrowly defined specialist role. Instead, we are looking for someone who enjoys understanding the bigger technical picture and who feels comfortable moving between different engineering disciplines when needed.

One project may focus on embedded software running on ARM Cortex-based systems. Another may involve analyzing high-frequency sensor data, improving machine-learning models, or collaborating with external technology partners on future-oriented concepts. The exact path is not always predefined, and that is exactly what makes this role interesting.

We are looking for someone with the technical foundation to contribute across multiple domains, combined with curiosity and adaptability to deepen their expertise when new challenges emerge. Someone who enjoys asking questions, exploring possibilities, and carefully translating complex technology into reliable real-world applications.

What does this mean in practice?

As Intelligent Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the development of advanced software and intelligent systems within our Research & Innovation department. Depending on the project, your work may range from embedded software engineering and machine-learning development to data analysis and data processing, validation, and technical exploration.

Your job will include:

  • Developing embedded software for real-time intelligent systems.
  • Working with machine learning models and data-driven algorithms.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and validating sensor datasets from embedded systems and motion sensors.
  • Designing feature-engineering pipelines and translating raw data into usable system inputs.
  • Supporting the development and optimization of intelligent decision-making systems.
  • Translating algorithms into efficient and reliable embedded C implementations.
  • Programming, debugging, and optimizing software on ARM Cortex-based platforms.
  • Working with multiple communication protocols such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external technology partners across different technical disciplines.
  • Contributing to testing, validation, and performance analysis of intelligent systems.
  • Exploring new technologies, methodologies, and engineering approaches where required.
  • Supporting development processes aligned with safety-critical software principles.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, 32 hours negotiable). You will report to the Research & Innovation Manager.

Are you our ideal candidate?

We are looking for someone with broad technical curiosity and a strong engineering foundation. Someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with practical problem solving, and who feels energized by technical challenges that do not always have a predefined solution.

You do not need to know everything from day one. What matters more is your ability to understand complex systems, connect different technical domains, and confidently deepen your expertise when new challenges arise.

We expect:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Embedded Systems, Control Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with software and firmware development and programming in C. Python programming knowledge is a big plus.
  • Affinity with intelligent systems data-driven engineering and machine learning.
  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time software development.
  • Understanding of sensor-data processing, feature engineering, and system behavior analysis.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with or interest in ARM Cortex-based embedded platforms.
  • A structured and analytical mindset combined with strong problem-solving skills.
  • The curiosity and adaptability to explore unfamiliar technical domains when projects require it.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
