Keep your product in top condition
Because motorcycle clothing is different from regular sportswear, the wash & care requirements are also different. Simply follow the instructions you’ll find inside every REV’IT! item (wash and care label) to keep your product in top condition for years of riding pleasure.
General Care Instructions
Always consult the wash and care label found inside your REV'IT! gear before washing. If there are multiple layers (i.e. a detachable liner) consult the label in each layer. This set of instructions is leading over any other instructions given. If you are ever in doubt of how to properly maintain your gear, check the inner label.
Specific Care Instructions
Depending on the type of motorcycle clothing or gear you have (leather, textile, a combination of both), different fabrics and constructions require specific attention on how to properly maintain them. Always follow the inner label’s wash and care instructions. We have also put together an overview of what wash and care can look like for your various products.
GORE-TEX gear
With their "GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™" promise, GORE-TEX stands behind their technical membrane. In order to maintain its longevity, it requires special care.
- Never use cleaning products that contain bleach, solvents, or other harsh chemical ingredients.
- Do not use washing powder.
- Never scrub waterproof or breathable membranes.
- Do not expose waterproof or breathable membranes to intense heat or prolonged direct sunlight.
- Never dry your garments on the radiator or close to a heat source.
- Before washing, remove all inner liners and armor.
- Close all zippers and hook-and-loop fixtures to avoid damaging other fabrics on your garment.
- Clothing equipped with GORE-TEX membrane technology can be washed in the washing machine.
- Your textile REV’IT! GORE-TEX garments should be cleaned with the specially formulated REV’IT! Textile Wash. This detergent gently removes stains without risk of damage to the membranes and breathable fabrics.
- Machine wash on a warm permanent-press cycle (105º F/40º C) using a small amount of liquid ed REV’IT! Textile Wash detergent (as mentioned on the bottle). Rinse twice, minimize spinning to reduce creasing.
- Never use powder detergents or any products that contain fabric softeners, conditioners, stain removers, or bleach as they will affect garment performance.
- Line dry your garment or tumble dry it on a warm, gentle cycle. Once it is dry, tumble dry your garment for 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the outer fabric.
If your garment has an LTD (liner to drop), please check the label found inside the garment for proper wash and care instructions. Each material is unique and requires its own method of maintenance. Pay close attention to - and follow - the instructions to avoid unnecessary damage and to keep your garment in top form for years to come.

How to wash motorcycle gloves?

- Clean the gloves by hand using a damp cloth. Do not use hot water.
- Remove difficult stains by using neutral soap or a special leather or textile cleaner.
- Do not allow your gloves to come in contact with solvents (do not use fabric softeners), petrol, or cleaning agents. This could change the characteristic properties (e.g. the color) of your gloves.
- Do not place your REV'IT! gloves near, or let your gloves get into contact with a direct heat source or direct sunlight, otherwise the material will become stiff.
- Do not use a washing machine, a dry cleaner, or high pressure devices to clean the gloves, as high temperature and pressure may damage the hand protection.
- It is recommended that you store the gloves in a dry and well-ventilated environment, out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat sources.
- Make sure that your gloves are completely dry before you store them. When gloves are stored wet or in a non-ventilated area, this may cause deformations and damage your gloves.
- Use our REV’IT! Leather Cleaner Conditioner to treat your gloves.
