Experimental Design & Prototyping - Intern/Graduate

Field: Product Design – Location: Oss, The Netherlands – Contract type: Internship

At REV'IT!, we have a deep-rooted drive. We want motorcyclists to enjoy their passion to the fullest. To achieve that goal, we try to learn something new every day. From each other, from our customers, from our data, and maybe also from you.

The Experimental Design & Prototyping internship takes that curiosity somewhere new. Beyond motorcycling, we are developing an ambitious project rooted in culture, clothing, style, and design. We are looking for someone who wants to explore it with us, not from behind a screen, but by making, testing, questioning, and building.

What can you expect from us?

This is not an internship where every answer is already known. That is exactly the point. You will contribute to an ambitious project as it takes shape, bringing our dedication to Design, Performance, and Innovation into a new environment. One driven by research, experimentation, and craftsmanship, where culture, clothing, materials, and international design intersect.

Your workspace will be physical as much as digital. Fabrics will be cut. Materials will be bonded. Seams will be stitched, pulled apart, reconsidered, and stitched again. An idea that looks convincing on paper might fail once you put it through a sewing machine. Another might only reveal its potential once you start working with it.

You will not be doing that alone. Around you will be designers, engineers, artists, communicators, experienced specialists, and young talent, each bringing a different perspective to the same challenge.
We will give you room to experiment, but we will also expect you to explain your thinking. You will learn through creation, contribute through curiosity, and help turn early ideas into tangible possibilities.

What does this mean in practice?

Your role sits where experimentation meets craftsmanship. You will investigate ideas by physically making them, learning from the material in your hands, and using each prototype to decide what should happen next.

Your job will include:

  • Creating physical prototypes to investigate concepts, constructions, shapes, and materials.
  • Cutting, stitching, bonding, crafting, assembling, and adapting prototypes by hand and machine.
  • Experimenting with an array of materials to understand their properties, possibilities, and limitations.
  • Operating a sewing machine confidently as part of your day-to-day prototyping work.
  • Exploring unconventional approaches and making intuitive design decisions when established solutions are not enough.
  • Identifying practical problems during development and testing different ways to solve them.
  • Collaborating closely with designers, engineers, artists, communicators, and other specialists.
  • Documenting your experiments, iterations, observations, and conclusions throughout the development process.
  • Presenting concepts and finished work clearly and professionally through physical presentations, print, or video.
  • Contributing your own cultural references, curiosity, and perspective to an evolving creative project.

This is an internship position. You will report to the Design Director Brand.

Are you our ideal candidate?

Technical ability matters, but this internship is equally about character. We are looking for someone who is curious enough to ask questions, eager enough to keep learning, and practical enough to start making when an idea needs testing.

You do not need to arrive with every skill fully developed. You do need to be studying in a relevant field, feel at home around materials and a sewing machine, and have the motivation to turn experimentation into something tangible.

We expect:

  • You are currently following a relevant education in fashion design, product design, textile design, industrial design, or a related creative discipline.
  • You have practical experience using a sewing machine and are comfortable developing your skills further.
  • You have a strong interest in culture, design, clothing, materials, and craftsmanship.
  • You enjoy hands-on work and are willing to cut, stitch, bond, construct, dismantle, and start again.
  • You approach problems with curiosity and are comfortable experimenting before the final answer is clear.
  • You can make thoughtful, intuitive design decisions and explain the reasoning behind them.
  • You can communicate and present your process and results clearly in English.
  • You are open to feedback, eager to learn from specialists around you, and ready to contribute your own point of view.
